We do not recommend that a thawed product be refrozen. If the product is completely thawed but is still cold, we recommend mixing and refrigerating it right away. Frozen concentrates should be discarded if they have thawed completely and remained at room temperature for a prolonged or unknown period of time.
After being mixed, a juice product made from concentrate should be kept cold in the refrigerator and consumed within five days.
Minute Maid® drink boxes may be frozen to be served chilled later. Placed in school lunches, the frozen boxes help keep food cool and will thaw at room temperature by lunch time.
We do not recommend freezing and thawing our ready-to-drink products in cartons, plastic bottles or cans. The cartons are not designed to be frozen and could leak once the product starts to thaw. The plastic bottles and cans may crack or break due to expansion of the freezing liquid in the container. Also, freezing a ready-to-drink product does not necessarily extend its shelf life.
The product should be discarded if it shows signs of:
Fermentation – A product may ferment when air, containing micro-organisms, enters a container. Fermentation will change the flavour and aroma of the product. The packaging may begin to swell and the container could burst.
Mould – Mould may be caused by air containing mould spores entering the package, refrigerating improperly, or keeping the product past its "best if used by" date.
